the bodies mere collateral
held up to the heavens
all through time served as example for small stately men
batter and trample
the cut of a jaw a pathological mystery
not to mention the legion of voices
so strong within me
bury the butchers of passion denied
oh predecessor dear leper death exemplified
both stow in shadows the battles of every side
retreat to the edge of the world
there's nowhere to hide
a god or a demon still screaming there's no way of saying
the hole in the head full of dread
now you see the blood spraying
strapped to the butcher block feeling the forebrain filet
the men with their icepicks and chisels have not made my day
the ones at home in the city
the ones alone in the country
the sight of the unsightly would terror revealing
my phlegm and my bile boiling fevers
a purging or bleeding i'd rather have neither
you probe me to find the fault of your own failing condition
your instrument searches for cause of the crass disposition
the deep beasts of ocean bring soaking
their beautiful bodies of grandeur
serving our memory with shadow and shades that they offer
the peeled fruit of humorous vapors will not reveal nature
